The Trust Innovate RAP
The Kardinia Park Stadium Trust (The Trust) is actively developing its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) with the primary aim of nurturing positive relationships with the local Aboriginal community.
Wanyaari and The Trust Trust have been facilitating consultation workshops to seek active involvement from the local Aboriginal community. These sessions have yielded valuable feedback that will directly shape the RAP, ensuring it authentically represents the community's interests, aspirations, and diversity.
In our community consultation sessions, we've incorporated weaving workshops within our yarning circles. Each woven piece signifies an individual journey, coming together to form a collective artwork that embodies unity, reconciliation, diversity, and the strength of community bonds. This artwork will be displayed at Kardinia Park and included in the final RAP document.
In your community engagement pack, you'll find materials and a needle to create your own coil, which will become part of the final artwork alongside pieces from the community workshops. For those of you that are new to weaving, the video tutorial below outlines a number of weaving techniques to help you get started.
Complete your coil and the survey then either give us a buzz on 0437 407 059 or pop into the Wanyaari offices at 34a Malop street and we’ll collect it to add to the final woven art piece.
We’ve included some background information about the project here and The Trust’s previous Reflect RAP.
